MDCFWOI started as a community response to farmworker displacement and poverty; it grew into a cornerstone of workforce and food system support in the Mississippi Delta.

Our team is composed of dedicated professionals with deep ties to the Mississippi Delta. From workforce development counselors to farm training coordinators, every staff member brings local knowledge and a shared commitment to service to our agriculture-based community. To accomplish our work, we hold collaborative partnerships with:

Over the last five decades, MDCFWOI has served more than 62,000 individuals.
MDCFWOI focuses on programs across the Mississippi Delta:

Each number represents a life touched-a student completing their GED, a farmworker moving into a stable job, or a new farmer putting down roots.
Visible Change
Accomplishments across the years (1971 to Present)
- 3,480 Persons enrolled in GED classes
- 1,770 Received GED certifications
- 2,809 Went on to continue their education/training
- 9,900 Persons placed on jobs (direct and indirect)
- 3,120 Persons enrolled in vocational, special skills
and higher education - 1,792 Of these had received a GED through our
program - 13,150 Enrolled in pre-employment counseling and
of orientation classes - 5,275 Persons participated in work experience
training - 4,500 Placed on On the Job Training with 3428
being retained after job training - 5,900 Youth involved in job counseling and transition
services - 62,000+ benefitted by employment training and
supportive services
